The Speedmaster astronauts actually wear today: a 45 mm titanium quartz with an analogue-digital display, mission elapsed time, alarms loud enough to hear through a helmet and, on the Skywalker of 2014, functions written with the European Space Agency. It is the working tool of the family and the least like a dress watch.
Every X-33 on Dialist is listed by a verified dealer and covered by buyer protection. The Skywalker X-33 (318.90.45) is the current reference; the original 1998–2006 X-33 and the Z-33 of 2012 are the collector pieces.
Generations
1998 X-33 (calibre 1666, 42.25 mm, famously loud alarm), 2012 Spacemaster Z-33 (43 mm, a Flightmaster-shaped case), 2014 Skywalker X-33 (calibre 5619, 45 mm), 2022 Marstimer with a Mars sol display.
Battery and screen
Omega rates the Skywalker's battery at about two years; a change is a service item that includes resealing and a pressure test. Check the LCD for faded segments, the one part that cannot be polished back.
Who it suits
Pilots, divers who log and anyone who wants the one Speedmaster that is lighter than a steel Moonwatch and does more. It is not a watch that gains value.
