Deleting your Dialist account

This page covers accounts on the Dialist marketplace at dialist.com and sign-ins to the Dialist Private Exchange app, listed on the App Store and Google Play as Dialist Private Exchange and published by Dialist Marketplace Inc. Your Private Exchange sign-in is your dialist.com dealer account, so there is one account and one deletion.

Our team closes accounts by hand, because closing a dealer account also closes a store, its listings and any open orders. There is no button that deletes the account on its own.

Write from the email address on your account. Subject line: “Delete my Dialist account”. If you use the button in the app or on your dialist.com profile, the subject is filled in for you. Tell us whether you use the marketplace, the Private Exchange app, or both.

In the app: open Settings, then Delete Account, then Email support. The app opens a mail draft to support@dialist.com.

On dialist.com: collectors can open their profile, choose Delete account, then Email support. Dealers email us directly.

You do not need the app installed to make the request. Signing out, uninstalling the app or ending a dealer plan does not delete your account.

If you have open orders, pending offers or a payout on the way, we ask you to complete or cancel them first and agree the plan with you by email. We cancel any active dealer plan as part of closing the account, with effect from the end of its billing period.

We confirm your request within two business days and act on it within 30 days, the response time set out in our Privacy Policy (45 days if you live in California, which the law lets us extend once). We email you when the account is closed. We only act on requests sent from the email address on the account. If you write from another address, we ask you to confirm from the account email first.

When the account is closed:

• Your sign-in is deleted and no longer works on dialist.com or in the Private Exchange app.
• Your name, store name, email address, phone number and photo are removed from your Private Exchange profile, and your connections and blocked list are deleted.
• Your marketplace account is closed, and your storefront and listings are taken down.

Some records stay after the account is closed. Section 6 of our Privacy Policy explains why and for how long. In short:

• Orders, offers, payments, payouts, invoices and tax records: about six to seven years after the transaction, as Canadian and United States tax rules require, or longer where the law requires.
• Identity verification, fraud screening and dispute records: for as long as anti-money laundering, sanctions and fraud rules require.
• Reviews, reference checks and vouches you gave or received: these stay, because other members rely on them.
• Messages with other members: these stay in the other party's conversation and in our records.
• Your marketplace account record, including your name, contact details, addresses and business details: kept with your transaction and verification records for the same period.
• Other account, support and security records, including support emails, audit logs and app usage analytics: for as long as reasonably necessary to run the Services, enforce our agreements, resolve disputes and comply with the law.

Where your name or contact details form part of one of these records, they stay with that record for the same period.
