How to keep payments protected, and how to document a shipment properly, so if something ever goes wrong, the evidence is already on your side.
Payment security
Fraud is becoming increasingly common in luxury watch transactions. Buyers and sellers alike may encounter scams designed to bypass secure payment protections. To keep every transaction protected:
- Always complete your purchase through Dialist Secure Checkout.Transactions completed outside the platform are not protected.
- Never send money directly to a seller or accept requests to complete payment outside Dialist.
- Never agree to move your conversation to another messaging platform to finalize a transaction.
- If a listing appears suspicious, use the Report Listing feature.Our security team will investigate promptly.
- Your email address is never shared with sellers, helping protect you from phishing attempts and unwanted contact.
Shipping security
Most shipments arrive without issue. However, if a shipping problem occurs, proper documentation becomes the most important evidence in resolving a claim.
Shipping instructions
- Photograph the watch from all angles before packaging to document its condition prior to shipment.
- Record a continuous video of the entire packing process, clearly showing the watch, packaging materials, sealing of the box, and shipping label.
- Double-box the shipment using appropriate protective packaging to prevent damage during transit.
- Ship only using the shipping label provided or approved by Dialist.
- Purchase shipping insurance for the full value of the watch.
- Retain your shipping receipt and tracking information until the transaction has been successfully completed.
- Never change the shipping address without prior approval from Dialist.
- Ship within the required timeframe and retain proof of shipment.
Receiving instructions
- Record one continuous, unedited video beginning before the package is opened and ending only after the watch has been fully inspected.
- Clearly capture the sealed package, shipping label, unpacking process, the watch from all angles, all accessories, and any documentation.
- Thoroughly inspect the watch for scratches, dents, missing components, shipping damage, or any condition that differs from the listing before ending the recording.
- Do not pause or stop the recording until the complete inspection has been finished.
- Photograph any damage, missing items, or discrepancies in addition to the continuous video.
- Retain all shipping boxes, packing materials, and accessories until the transaction has been finalized.
- Contact Dialist immediately if you discover any issue before wearing, sizing, servicing, or modifying the watch.
- Do not attempt to resolve shipping or condition issues directly with the seller before notifying Dialist.
